We attended the Tribology Conference 2024 Autumn, held in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, from October 30 to November 1, 2024, and gave a presentation at the conference. The venue was the Bankoku Shinryokan, where the Kyushu-Okinawa Summit (2000) was held. It was a wonderful location for lively research presentations and discussions on tribology. The research presentations related to our research group is as follows. As one of the symposium, the Japan-Korea joint project “5th Japan-Korea Tribology Symposium: Automotive Tribology” was held, and Itoh and Honda (M1) gave presentations.

  • "Measurement of shear viscoelasticity of polymer added lubricants in nanogaps", Shintaro ITOH, Takumi NOZUE, Tomoya HONDA (presented in 5th Japan-Korea Tribology Symposium:Automotive Tribology)

  • "Impedance measurement methods for lubricating oils sheared in nanogaps", Tomoya HONDA(M1), Shintaro ITOH, Kenji FUKUZAWA, Naoki AZUMA, Hedong ZHANG (presented in 5th Japan-Korea Tribology Symposium:Automotive Tribology)

  • "Effect of the molecular weight of free polymer on the lubricity of polymer brush films", Tomoaki NISHIKAWA(M2), Shintaro ITOH, Atsushi NORO, Takato KAJITA, Kenji FUKUZAWA, Naoki AZUMA, Hedong ZHANG

We participated in the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers Annual Conference held at Ehime University from September 9th to 11th, 2024, and presented our research achievements. Despite the lingering summer heat, the poster presentation room was literally filled with a lot of enthusiasm. The titles of the presentations are as follows. Yamamoto-kun presented the results of his research into measuring the wetting of liquids in nano-spaces, with the aim of improving the performance of nanoimprint lithography (NIL). NIL is a new technology for semiconductor microfabrication, and we are conducting joint research with Canon Inc. and Prof. Nakagawa's Lab. (Tohoku University). Sato-kun presented the results of his development of a method for measuring the dynamics of ionogel ink, which is used as a functional ink in printed electronics (PE). PE is a technology that uses printing technology to form sensors and electronic circuits, and it is becoming important as a manufacturing technology for flexible and stretchable devices in the development of IoT (Internet of Things) technology and wearable terminals.

  • "Influence of Solid Surface Material on Wetting Velocity of Light-Curing Liquid in Nano-Gap", Kanta YAMAMOTO(M1), Shintaro ITOH, Kenji FUKUZAWA, Masaru NAKAGAWA, Ryo NAWATA, Naoki AZUMA, Hedong ZHANG

  • "Evaluation Method for Mechanical Properties of Ionogel Ink Thin Film Based on JKR Theory", Hiroto SATO (M1), Shintaro ITOH, Yasuyuki KUSAKA, Kenji FUKUZAWA, Naoki AZUMA, Hedong ZHANG

2024 年6月24−27日にスウェーデンのルンド市で開催されたNNT(International Conference on Nanoimprint and Nanoprint Technologies)

  • "Wetting properties of photocurable liquid films in nanogaps measured using a nanochannel device", Shintaro ITOH, Masato SUZUKI, Kanta YAMAMOTO, Kenji FUKUZAWA, Masaru NAKAGAWA, Ryo NAWATA, Naoki AZUMA, Hedong ZHANG

We attended and presented our research at NNT (International Conference on Nanoimprint and Nanoprint Technologies) 2024 held in Lund, Sweden, on June 24-27, 2024. Lund is an old city representing Sweden, but it is also an academic city with many universities and research institutes. There were many research presentations on nanoimprinting at the conference. There were many presentations on the development of optics devices such as optical waveguides and meta-lenses for smart glasses etc. using nanoimprinting, giving the impression of active research and development as well as social implementation through start-ups. As one of the conference events, we were able to visit MAX IV, one of the leading synchrotron radiation facilities in Northern Europe. The titles of our research presentations are as follows.

  • “Wetting properties of photocurable liquid films in nanogaps measured using a nanochannel device”, Shintaro ITOH, Masato SUZUKI, Kanta YAMAMOTO, Kenji FUKUZAWA, Masaru NAKAGAWA, Ryo NAWATA, Naoki AZUMA, Hedong ZHANG
