A method for analyzing the size of giant DNA using nano-slit flow channels has been developed, enabling higher separation efficiency than existing technologies and size analysis in a short time.
The size can be accurately determined by measuring the relaxation time (the time it takes for the DNA to return from an extended state to a coiled state).
The device can be manufactured using simple photolithography and can analyze as few as 200 molecules, so it is expected to be developed for mass production and practical application.
The new method enables high-precision and comprehensive epidemiological analysis, contributing to strategies against drug-resistant bacteria.
